Center for Environmental Education and Information announces winner of nation wide contest.

U of Mass. Amherst student wins $1000

University of Massachusetts undergraduate student Lisa Dangutis won $1000 for the best assessment paper about the Clean Water Act and its statusin Massachusetts. The Center of Environmental Education and Information(CEEI) of Sun Valley Idaho, held a nation wide contest this spring for the best paper that dealt with the "303d"Clean Water Act (CWA) Lists.

Her paper which is posted on the web site at talked about what the CWA law, the state legislature, the governor, EPA, press, community , environmental, university, groups are doing or not doing to getin charge of the 303d list that has 903 pollutedstreams on the Massachusetts list. There are 21309 polluted streams that are listed on the web site in the 50 states.

CEEI has announced that they are running another nation-wide contest. Papers will be due February 28th 2004. If interested apply to CEEI at ceei@cox-internet.com attention CEEI Director.
